At AYA™ Medical Spa Avalon in Alpharetta, Northside, and Phipps Plaza, we offer a versatile menu of non-surgical skincare treatments to address your specific needs. All of our treatments are customizable for your skin including microdermabrasion, an exfoliation treatment to stimulate collagen production and remove dull, dead skin cells.Microdermabrasion is the most natural way to evenly and safely exfoliate the skin without chemicals to provide a more youthful appearance. It is one of the most requested non-invasive cosmetic procedures, and can be customized to meet your specific skin care needs. Microdermabrasion uses a diamond encrusted tip or aluminum oxide crystals attached to a mechanized wand to exfoliate and vacuum away dead skin cells. Known as our DiamondTome™ or MegaPeel® Platinum microdermabrasion treatments, these can be performed on almost all skin types. Many patients compare this treatment to a deep massage as it increases circulation, stimulates collagen growth, and minimizes the appearance of skin conditions.DiamondTome™ microdermabrasion can be used to remove dead, dull skin cells from the surface of the face, neck, chest, arms, and hands of both men and women. DiamondTome™ exfoliation is said to be gentler than other varieties of microdermabrasion, and is therefore ideal not only for the face, but the sensitive skin on the backs of hands and the neck. The number of DiamondTome™ treatments needed will be determined after your skin analysis with one of AYA’s licensed estheticians. Following your treatment, your skin will probably appear flushed as a result of the mechanical stimulation and increased circulation to the skin. Any redness should subside shortly after treatment. However, patients who need a more aggressive program may experience redness for up to a day following treatment. Once the skin calms, it will appear rejuvenated and more youthful.Our licensed estheticians commonly combine microdermabrasion with other rejuvenating treatments such as chemical peels and facials to further enhance results.
