The science behind HALO laser

HALO delivers both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths to the skin. This allows for a greater impact and faster, more significant results without increasing the downtime. The ablative laser creates micro-wounds in the top layers of your skin to remove damaged cells, while the non-ablative laser works deeper, promoting collagen growth and encouraging your skin’s natural healing processes. The hybrid fractional laser is also proven safe for all skin types, making it a versatile and accessible treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is a good candidate for HALO laser?

HALO is a safe and effective treatment method for all skin types, making it a popular choice among aesthetic practitioners and patients alike. With its dual modalities, it also offers minimal downtime, which means most patients are able to work it into their schedules. In general, anyone seeking to reduce moderate to severe sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, and scarring can benefit from the HALO treatment.

Does HALO hurt?

With the use of numbing cream, a HALO laser treatment generally yields minimal discomfort. The device also has a cooling mechanism to deliver cold air to reduce your discomfort. Patients may experience warmth, prickling, or a sunburn sensation, and the treatment itself is very quick.

How many HALO laser treatments are needed?

For best results, HALO treatments should be performed in a series. Most patients receive an average of 2 to 3 treatments, regardless of their concerns. These sessions are spaced around 4 to 6 weeks apart. Yearly or bi-annual maintenance treatments may be recommended by your aesthetic practitioner.

What is the downtime for a HALO laser treatment?

Thanks to its dual function, HALO is able to offer the results of an ablative laser with a fraction of the downtime. Downtime for HALO depends on the settings used and the area(s) and conditions treated, but is generally around 5-7 days. Patients may notice redness, swelling and heat like a sunburn for the first two to three days. After that, the discoloration begins to surface, giving the skin a ‘coffee-ground’ appearance. This will flake off over the coming days, and it’s important to allow this process to happen naturally—don’t pick, scrub or rub at the treated skin. After the healing process is complete, your results will be visible, with the ‘halo-like’ glow that gives this treatment its name.

How much does HALO laser cost?

The cost of HALO treatments can vary based on the number of sessions needed and the area(s) to be treated. Book a complimentary consultation with one of our expert aesthetic practitioners to learn more information and get your HALO on!
